Mac OS X Tiger | Strong Firewall Features

Mac OS X 10.4 Tiger certainly packs a wallop not just in the fancy stuff. The latest built-in firewall has the guys (and girls) at Macriot impressed. Tiger now comes with user accessible advanced firewall features you would expect from firewall applications that you normally have to buy as an add-on to your computer these days. Just to keep the snoops out and your data in.

Stealth mode and firewall logging are among some of the strong firewall features included in Tiger.

You access these settings by opening your System Preferences and selecting the Sharing pane (Diagram 1.0). Having done that the rest is easy:

  • select the Firewall pane within your Sharing pane;
  • click Advance (Diagram 1.1);
  • select the strong firewall feature you desire (Diagram 1.2).
