Until Skype themselves builds an application that sits directly inside the iPhone, there is an alternative to utilise Skype on your iPhone.
What is needed, is to simply to direct your iPhone's Safari browser to www.s4.iphone.com, fill in the appropriate login details at the login page and you're in!
It may not look exactly like Skype on your computer but it works for now.
