Mac OS X Leopard | Activity Monitor Fails To Launch After Leopard Upgrade

One of the most common complaints, one which we ourselves have endured until recently, is the failing of Activity Monitor after a Mac OS X Tiger to Leopard upgrade.

Nothing happens. You click the Activity Monitor icon and an error message is displayed prompting a re-launch or the option to report the error to Apple.

Here's a simple fix.

  • Go to the Apple Developer's member web site
  • If you're not already a member then create a membership account
  • If you're already a member, login
  • Select the Downloads link
  • From the Downloads option select the Developer's Tools downloads
  • Download the CHUD tools 4.5.0 (Diagram 1.0)
  • Install CHUD tools 4.5.0 on your Mac
  • Restart your Mac

Activity Monitor should be back and working again after the installation.
